Uttarakhand Government has relaxed restrictions on the entry of tourists as river rafting returns to Rishikesh after almost six months of lockdown due to Covid-19 (coronavirus). Almost new rules have come into action for the tourists to visit Uttarakhand. Tourists need to take either RT-PCR (Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction), TrueNAT, CBNAAT, or antigen test to visit while the tests must not be older than 96 hours prior to arrival. Tourists can also opt for on arrival tests of Covid-19 (coronavirus). They are available at airports and border check posts and railway stations.

Previously the minimum stay in the state was seven days but currently, it has reduced to two days. Before the pandemic hit in India, thousands of visitors used to flocked to Rishikesh for river rafting along the river Ganga daily. Not only river rafting visitors also used to visit paraglide, zipline, and participate in other adventure activities.
