For travelers who are looking for some adventurous activity and ride in Goa will be excited to know that joyrides will be launched for them. If all goes per plan, by May 2020, you will be able to take a heli-tour of Goa, which another reason to visit GOA! The Goa Tourism Development Corporation’s (GTDC) plan for heli-tourism in Goa is all set to take flight as the state government has commissioned a Rs 3.03 crore project to develop a helipad in Ela (Old Goa). Work is scheduled to begin in October this year. These commercial joyrides will provide clear view of the beauty of state and will add excitement to the trip.
Ela is already home to a government-owned helipad but in order to make it fully functional, facilities such as a vacuumed dewatered flooring (VDF), an approach road, lighting, and compound walls need to be added.
According to GTDC officials, the helipad will be built in a 20,920 sqm-plot owned by the state tourism department. Once the helipad is renovated, GTDC will promote heli-tourism in Goa as another way for tourists to explore the sunshine state. So why wait you have another reason to visit GOA!
According to source Helicopter Joyride is the dream venture of the GTDC which is likely to be back on the track after its discontinuation for three years. The project was launched by the Goa Tourism in the year 2016 but was shut down due to different reasons.
